Liduvina Serrato's Obituary
Liduvina Serrato was born in the town of Tlazazalca, State of Michoacan, Mexico on September 20, 1932. Her parents were Benjamin and Jacoba Cachu. She was one of 5 children. Liduvina was married to Alfonso Serrato Sr. for 72 years. Liduvina, her husband and their 8 children immigrated to the United States in 1971. They purchased their first home and settled in Escondido, CA where they lived up until the present.
Liduvina worked as a seamstress for 42 years, advancing her career from sewing baby clothes and coats to eventually moving up to a management position in a pillow factory. She was loved by her employees, enjoyed and was very dedicated to her job until she retired in her 70’s due to medical issues.
Liduvina was a loving woman who loved God and took pride and joy in her children and family. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, and gardening. As soon as she knew there would be a new baby addition to the family she would start knitting their first baby blanket. When it was time for her family members’ birthday, she would ask what they would like her to cook or bake for them. She loved sharing her recipes with the family and enjoyed spending the weekends surrounded by family and her loving dog/companion Rio.
Our hearts are broken by her departure but know that she is in heaven. No more worry and no more pain. Her heart is healthy and her legs are strong. Finally resting and lovingly watching over her family until me meet again. She will be in our hearts and greatly missed.
She is preceded by her husband Alfonso Serrato Sr., her father, mother and four siblings. She is survived by her 8 children, 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Thank you all for your condolences and prayers for the family. They are greatly appreciated in our time of sorrow.
May She Rest in Peace.
