Lewis Begley Culkin Jr.'s Obituary
Lew passed away at home in Escondido, CA after a short illness. He was an only child growing up in Omaha, NE, Sioux City, IA and Sheridan, MT. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO. He served in the Air Force 1957-1961 544th Recon Tech GP (SAC) with one year isolated duty in Trabzon, Turkey. His career at GTE spanned 36 years retiring as Executive Director over the Carrier Services group.
Retiring in 1993 he and his wife Maryanne traveled the world. He began his hobby of genealogy after visiting Ireland, where his roots were and where he got dual citizenship. He entered almost 40,000 people into Ancestry.com.
He was a nice gentleman, could tell stories forever, and will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Maryanne, daughter Jana Wesel (Mark) and son Michael. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Dee Dee Urquhart (Corey) .
