He is survived by his wife of 21 years; Rebecca; children, Anthony, Annie and Molly; parents, Boyd and Helen Haugen; sisters, Joan Mondry, Mary Hoppe; brother John Hoffman. He graduated from UND with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was born and raised in North Dakota. He was recruited by General Dynamics after College and came to San Diego in 1983.
