Kenneth James Weaver's Obituary
He leaves his wife Elsa; one son, Michael; a loving daughter-in-law, Valerie; three grandchildren, Christopher, Brett and Karen, and their spouses, Emily and Heidi Weaver, and Capt. Peter Keough, USMC; and three great-grandchildren, Matilda, Dashiell and Kaylie. He danced and spoke at the weddings of all of his grandchildren and joined in the celebration of the births of each of their children. "Pop" will be missed by all of them. He entered the US Navy in time to be stationed on the USS Enterprise at the outbreak of war. On December 7, 1941 he was under the command of Vice Admiral William F. Halsey, Jr., 200 miles west of Oahu. The following three years involved great service to Kenneth was born at Fellows, California, a dusty oil drilling camp, the fifth child of John wesley and Sadie Weaver. After his graduation from Bakersfield High School, he attended Santa Barbara State College where he excelled in football. During summer A strong man of virtue, honesty and integrity he was active in his church and community. All who knew him will remember his full and complete life and his constant display of warmth, selfnessness and generosity to others.
