Kay Erma Ward's Obituary
Kay Erma Ward (1936-2015) of Escondido lost her valiant battle with cancer. Born in Alamosa, Colorado to Glenn E. Ward and Lois Helmick Ward, Kay spent her early years in the small Colorado mining town of Creede before moving to San Diego County.
Kay graduated from Fallbrook High School in 1954 and was employed for many years by a San Diego area wholesale grocery products firm. As a 44-year resident of Escondido, Miss Ward continued in retirement her life-long creative activities in arts and crafts which highly prized accomplishments are enjoyed by a wide circle of acquaintances. There are no immediate family survivors. Her extended Helmick family thanks two devoted friends, Pat and Judy, for their excellent and compassionate care.
At Miss Ward’s request there will be no memorial or funeral services; her ashes will be scattered this summer in the Sangre de Christo Mountains near her place of birth. Kay loved her dachshund dogs: memorial donations may be made to the Escondido Humane Society, 3450 E. Valley Pkwy, 92027.
