Kathryn Phillips' Obituary
Kathryn Phillips, born Kathryn Murline Carlin in 1934, was the daughter of the late L.E. and Murline Carlin, and the older sister of Charles and Raymond Carlin and Janice Stevens. After a long and full life well lived, Kathryn departed this earth on Christmas Day, 2022, joining her beloved husband, the late Aubrey Clyde Phillips, Jr. She is survived by her three children, Phyllis Kay, Tony and Amy, two stepsons, Rusty and Mike, 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Kathryn was born and lived her early years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, later moving to Midwest City where she graduated from Midwest City Senior High School . She then lived in both Louisiana and Texas before settling with her family in the San Diego area in 1975. A graduate of San Diego State University, she worked in multiple roles in the healthcare and data management industries.
Kathryn dedicated herself to the study and teaching of the Bible. Following her retirement from professional life, she pursued her devotion to spreading the Gospel through teaching and through extensive travel and outreach in both Mexico and South Africa.
As a woman of deep and constant faith, Kathryn rejoiced that her time spent in the living company of those she loved will be followed by the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior. She will be remembered for her wit, her patience, her charitable heart, and her abiding goodness. She was a woman devoted to knowing and doing the right thing in all instances. She will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church, 858-487-0811. The family appreciates flowers or donations to either the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
