June Whetstone's Obituary
June Whetstone, 93, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her Rancho Bernardo home. June was born on November 19, 1919 in New Brunswick, NJ to Andrew and Edna Sicknick. She was an Honors graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University. After college June was a technical librarian for the DuPont and Shell Development companies before becoming a full time homemaker. During WWII June was a member of the Jr. USO and entertained the troops. Mrs. Whetstone moved to California in 1944 and to Rancho Bernardo in 1980. During her life she established two church libraries and sang in church choirs for 40 years. Mrs. Whetstone was involved with the Girl Scouts during her daughters’ younger years. June was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Escondido (in which she was married in 1947).
