missing you

On Johnny's 75th birthday, us girls in the office had this cake baked for him. Whenever he had to initial something for us, sometimes he would add a "bummer" face to his J, especially if it was a vacation request! The girl at the bakery did a great job of copying his initials. John had a great sense of humor, unexpectedly and out of nowhere he would say the funniest things. He was in the office daily, and I mean daily.. weekends included. He was a great example, with an unmatched work ethic and attention to detail like none other. There are so many memories to share, we could write a book! But this one was special to us here in the office, this cake was made for him almost every birthday after this one. We miss him dearly.
If there is such a thing as a true friend it was Johnny. We met in 1985 and remained close friend in both business and personal right up until his passing. Our friendship was a friendship like no other and i miss his phone calls and our times together terribly. We both had an unwritten understanding though we never spoke of it, but we both knew if either one of us ever had a problem or any issue that required any type of help, we were there for each other to do or provide whatever was needed. Johnny picked his friends very wisely and i consider myself very fortunate that he chose me to be one of his trusted friends. I miss our weekly, sometimes daily, phone calls and the many times we got together Johnny & Anita and family both here and at Lake Havasu. The man is truly irreplaceable both as a business associate and as a close friend and i will remember him often until i join him.
