Joyce Ann Kutney's Obituary
Joyce passed away on October 20, 2023 in San Diego, CA.
She was born on March 18, 1940 in Passaic, NJ to Frank Huber and Anne Kuruc. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Michael Kutney. Joyce married Michael Kutney in St. Brendan's Catholic Church, Clifton, NJ. They were married for 54 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Waggener, her husband, Kevin of Colorado Springs, CO and Sue Fota and her husband, Tom of San Diego, CA and her son Michael C. Kutney and his wife, Laura of Santa Cruz, CA. Joyce had five grandchildren: Ryan, Serena and Aiden Kutney; and Jace and Mika Waggener.
Joyce is survived by her sister, Patricia Spoust of West Milford, NJ and her brother-in-law, Emery Kutney of Warminster, PA.
Joyce was a teacher for 20 years in the Wayne School District, NJ and at Orange Glen Elementary School in the Escondido Union School District, Escondido, CA.
Visitation will be held at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 225 South Broadway, Escondido on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 3:00 – 7:00pm. Mass will be held at San Rafael Parish, 17252 Bernardo Center Drive in San Diego, CA on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:30am. A graveside service and burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 2640 Glen Ridge Road, Escondido following the mass at 1:00pm.
