Joshua Meshew Tharp, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Tharp was preceded in death by his Sister: Nell Atkins and Daughter: Rebecca Roses. He is survived by his Wife of 60 years: Mary Sue Tharp; Son: Michael Tharp and wife Jandaeng; Daughter: Suzanne Larsen; Brothers: David Tharp and Jack Tharp; Sister: Wanda Eason, and two Grandchildren: Alyssa Larsen and Anna Sue Larsen. He served his country from 1943-1945 and was commissioned an ensign in the United States Navy. He attended the University of Arkansas before entering the Navy. He graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He was the general manager of the Getty Oil concession in the neutral zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia- 1968-1970 and 1975-1976. He was Vice-President of Getty Oil and Texaco. He was a member of Rotary International and served as President in Ventura,
