Josephine "Joey" Prince's Obituary
October 3, 1927 - September 19, 2015
Josephine Prince who went by “Joey” died on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the age of 88 in her home in Escondido, peacefully of COPD. She was born on October 3, 1927 in Mingo, West Virginia and grew up in Sidney, Kentucky. Joey was married to William A. Prince for 52 years until his death. They raised 10 children, Christine passed at the age of 18 months. Joey will be remembered for her devotion to her family and grandchildren and great grand children. She was know for her understated strength, grace and beauty. She worked for many years as a medical assistant in the Escondido area. She is survived by her loving husband and constant companion of the past 6 years, Donald Seivert. Joey is survived by her 9 children, Kathy Sinclair and her husband John, Joyce Schiavone and her husband Michael, Greg Prince and his wife Renae, Theresa Trogdon and her husband Owen, Emily Prince, Timothy Prince, Denise Prince and her husband Bill Berryhill, Colleen Prince and her husband Jeffrey Judd, and Paul Prince. Joey has 12 grandchildren: Dr. Ahna Skop, Tarsia Mah, Zesha Skop, Damien Skop, Nick Fisser, Shawna Johnson, Andrea Manus, Sarah Hilderbrand, Adam Waldron, Alex Waldron, Madison Prince-Judd, and Dashiell Prince-Judd, and 14 great grandchildren: Amaya, Ari, Milla, Sky, Nikolai, Nadia, Cameron, Caroline, Robbie, Tanner, Tyler, Jared, Tristin, and Devin.
The service will be held at The Church of St. Timothy’s on Wednesday, September 23rd at 2pm, 2960 Canyon Rd, Escondido, CA. Burial service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Escondido, CA.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the prayers, visits, and support through out Joey’s fight with COPD. We are blessed to be touched by such a wonderful soul.
