Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia; his parents, Joseph and Ann Patrick; sister, Marcella; and niece, Anne Carey. He is survived by his sisters, Joanne Carey (John), and Patricia Genthe; nephew, Joseph Carey (Michele), Grand-niece and nephew, Diana and Kyle Carey, who will miss Uncle Joe; he loved them dearly. Joseph attended Roosevelt High School, but because of WWII raging, he ran off and joined the Navy. He was sent to the Pacific Theater aboard the USS South Dakota. He was proud of his service and loved the Navy. He was present at the ceremony at the sig His 40 year marriage to Cornelia was spent in Hollywood, Florida where he was a carpenter. Because of health reasons, the family prevailed upon him to move to California. For five years, he was seen in Escondido on his scooter, dressed dapperly, talking Due to failing health, Joe resided with his siter, Joanne and John Carey in Pauma Valley for the last three months of his life.
