John "Jack" R. Haine's Obituary
John is survived by his loving wife, Anne, and two children, Susan Buckley and spouse, Don Buckley of Poway, CA and John Haine and his son David of Livonia MI, and the McCleary family. He served in WWII with General Patton's 3rd Army, 11th Armored Division as a 1st Sergeant. He fought in the Battle of Bastogne and helped to liberate Mauthausen Concentration Camp near Linz, Austria. He served our country from 1941-1946. He was born in Mansfield, OH and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth. He graduated in 1938 from Miami University (Ohio) with a BS in Business Administration. John lived in Detroit, MI and was an executive in the personnel department at General Motors Headquarters for 30 years, retiring at age 58. He moved to Harlingen, TX in 1973 and was a real estate broker at Palm Valley Realty. John is a past president of In lieu of a service or flowers, donations may be made to the Redwood Terrace "Employee Appreciation Fund" with a notation for remembrance of John Haine. John lived his last two years in the Redwood Health Center and was cared for by "Angels".
