John Hollman Neal's Obituary
John Hollman Neal passed away on September 11, 2021 at Palomar Medical Center Escondido Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 76 years old and had been a resident of Escondido, California for 48 years.
John was born November 15, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Joe West Neal and Clarice Georgette Hollman both of whom preceded him in death.
John grew up in Austin, Texas where he graduated from Austin High School in 1963.
Upon graduation, John enlisted in the US Army. Later, John attended university in Texas and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business. He continued his education and became a nurse practitioner in 1977. He was commissioned into the US Navy in 1973 and served there as a reservist until he retired at the rank of commander after 20 plus years of service.
John married Linda Grace Bebout on May 30, 1970, in Escondido, California.
John’s career predominantly included working as a nurse practitioner for San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
John enjoyed photography and traveling. Throughout his life, he traveled to six of the seven continents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1917 E. Washington Ave in Escondido, California.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years Linda Grace Neal and his three younger siblings Tom Neal, Frank Neal and Mary Jo Beckman. John is also survived by his seven children Julie (Roby) Blasini, Sarah (Lawrence) Smathers, Michael (Deannah) Neal, Rachel (Cesar) Neal- Arechaga, Stephen (Sayumi) Neal, Matthew (Jennifer) Neal, and Deborah (Nathan) Behymer all of which have given him 19 grandchildren.
