I didn't know Mr. Donnellon personally but I was fortunate to get a glimpse into this lovely gentleman through the eyes of his eldest, Mary. She always spoke so lovingly of her dad; the way he enjoyed any sugarless treats, the charisma with which he dealt with his nurses and helpers, his stubbornness when he (as we all do) wanted something his way. All any of us can hope for when God calls us to Him is to be surrounded by the ones we love and who love us and it certainly sounds like Mr. Donnellon had all of his bases covered. Rest in peace, Sir.

I was Johns' Massage Therapist for the last 2 years. We gradually became friends, and I so enjoyed our visits as John was sharp and had a contagious sense of humor. Over time, I learned we were both from NY. He was very supportive of my moms passing and attended her memorial that was held at Brookdale. He really listened to all the speakers, and shared some stories that were similar to his wife, Rosemary, and my mom. He took the flowers I gave him from the memorial, and brought them to Rosemarys' grave place. This touched me deeply, I could see his devotion to his wife and his pride of children and great grandchildren, and this was healing for me to be in his presence as I had not had that in my life to that level.
