Joan Marie Dematteis' Obituary
Joan is survived by two daughters, Theresa, Suzuki (Mert) and Chris O'Connor; and three grand-daughters, Breanne and Heather Suzuki, and Lindsey O'Connor. She graduated from Immaculate Heart High School and earned an RN degree at St. Vincent's College of Nursing in 1952. She died in her home surrounded by her family after a seven year struggle with cancer. She leaves behind a loving family and many longtime devoted friends. While visiting her grandparents in Escondido, she met Jim Dematteis, then a student at UCLA. Jim In Lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory to Vincent de Paul Village and Interfaith Community Services would be appreciated.
