Jesus Hurtado Serrato's Obituary
Jesus Hurtado Serrato passed away at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on April 29, 1962, in Acuitzeramo, Michoacán, to Uvaldo and Maria Elena Serrato. From a young age, Jesus traveled frequently to the United States with his family to work, developing the strong work ethic that would define his life. On June 1, 1985, he married Patricia, and together they shared a long and loving marriage built on commitment, sacrifice, and deep devotion to family.
Jesus established his life in Escondido, California, where he became a successful businessman in the contracting industry. Through his dedication and perseverance, he built not only a career, but a stable and loving home where he and Patricia raised their five children.
Jesus is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Serrato; his mother, Maria Elena Hurtado Serrato; his five siblings, Rosa Maria Cortez, Velia Hurtado, Uvaldo Serrato, Norma Hurtado, and George Serrato; his five children, Juan Serrato, Jesus Miguel Serrato, Diego Serrato, Alex Serrato, and Araceli Serrato; and his eight cherished grandchildren.
A devoted father, Jesus had a deep passion for architecture, construction, and landscaping, finding pride in creating and building with his hands. He also had a great love for music and will be fondly remembered through the songs and artists that brought him joy throughout his life. Jesus especially treasured traveling back to his hometown of Acuitzeramo, Michoacán, where life felt slower and simpler, and where he found peace in familiar surroundings.
Jesus shared his wisdom freely with his children as they grew into adulthood. His greatest mission in life was to see his children live successful, fulfilling, and happy lives. His legacy of hard work, love, and guidance will continue to live on through them and through all who knew and loved him.
