Wife of 54 years: Batty Karch; Sons: Kit and Kathy Karch of Menifee, CA, Tim Karch of San Marcos, CA; Daughters: Tonda and Lance Patterson of Escondido, CA, Kim and Terry Davis of Aurora, CO; Sisters: Betty Lou and Donald Cotterman of Hubert Heights, Ohio and Debbie Heiliganberg of Dayton, Ohio. James served in The National Guard from 1950-1952. James was a gunsmith and enjoyed the bow and arrow, and hunting. He enjoyed drawing, woodworking and horses. Donations can be sent in James' name to Palomar Continuing Care, 1817 Avenida Del Diablo, Escondido, CA 92029
