James Alphonsus Bartley, Sr.'s Obituary
James was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia and many brothers and sisters. He is survived by his brothers, George Lewis Bartley and Dr. Charles Bartley; his sister-in-law, Ione Bartley. His daughter Joan Rico and her husband Gus; grandson Tom Rico and his wife, Jayne; great grandsons, Ryan and Austin Rico; granddaughter, Cathy Barros and her husband, John; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Tassia, Chantea, Isiah and Chanea Barros; granddaughter, Annette Rico Taupier; great grandchildren, Eva, Arie and Juliette Taupier; granddaughter, Michelle Diamantides and husband Chris; great granddaughter, London; son James Bartley, Jr. and his wife, Christina; and great granddaughter, Rachel Cecilia Bartley. He was born in Untion Town KY, to Mary Magdalen Pike and John Kenrick Bartley of Kentucky. He studied in the seminary at Notre Dame University and received his Masters in Sociology. He married Cecilia in 1936. James worked for child welfare, with the State of California, as an adoption agent, San Diego Catholic Charities, Boys Town and was a nutritional consultant for Stndad Process Vitamins.
