Jack Weber's Obituary
Jack Duane Weber went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2021, in Escondido, California. He is survived by his wife Sandra of 65 years; children Doris Suzanne East, Sherry Eaton and Jeffery Weber; nine grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by parents Otto and Ara Lou Weber and siblings Dale Weber & Ione (Weber) Weber.
Jack was born September 25, 1932, in National City, CA, and lived in East San Diego County before moving to Escondido, CA, when he was 9 years old. He graduated from Escondido High School then finished his education with Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, then went to work for General Dynamics. His 35 year career began with prop planes, continued to jets and ended with rockets.
Home improvements were his pastime. Projects included a pool, train room, playhouse and home additions including a shop, music room, bedroom and finished attic. The electronics he designed for the house and yard were ahead of their time. He enjoyed decades of family camping and backpacking trips. His travel after retirement included Panama, Alaska, five road trips across the United States and twenty-five motor coach tours with the Keenagers and Master’s Touch.
He had a generous spirit, constantly using his God-given talents for the benefit of others. For decades he volunteered at Emmanuel Faith Community Church as a Sunday school teacher and then in the tape ministry. The Weber pool was the frequent site of many EFCC youth events. He also served the community as a Boy Scout leader and an Indian Guide leader.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido on Monday, December 20, 6:30 pm. Earlier in the day, a small interment ceremony will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Emmanuel Faith Community Church.
