Isabel Janet Andres' Obituary
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Andres; daughters, Susan Tolhurst (Ric) and Mary Stewart-Giodano; sons, Paul Andres (Ariane), David Andres (Wendy); grandchildren Stephen Tolhurst (Julie) and the first great-grandchild to be, also Rebecca Styers (Billy), Adam Stewart, Julia Andres, Katie and Tucker Andres; and her loving sister, Pauline Felix. Isabel will always be known for her SMILE, her genuine interest in others, her wisdom and her beautiful whistle that could be heard throughout the neighborhood. She made a point of connecting personally with all she met. She graduated from Ashtabula High School, then attended Bowling Green State U. and Kent State U., performing in many plays and earning a teaching degree. In 1951, she married Johnny Andres, and they raised four children. A visit to California prompted a move to Escondido in 1968, where she and Johnny owned and operated George & Ann's Drive-In until 1979. Though the hours were long, she smiled and lovingly raised her family. When they built Andres Center on the property, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St., Escondido, CA 92025, or to First United Methodist Church, Trustee's Capital Reserve Fund.
