Irene (Tomchek) Gill
February 20, 1924 – September 9, 2021
Irene Gill of Escondido, California passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the age of 97. She was born on February 20, 1924, in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Anna (Chach) and Stephen Tomchek. Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Gill; her two sisters, Mary Inman and Ann Americo; three brothers, Andrew, Stephen, John Tomchek; and her niece Denise Potter. Irene is survived by six nieces and five nephews; many grand and great grand nieces and nephews, and we can’t forget her beloved dog Elliot who stayed by her side faithfully until the end. She also leaves many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. A celebration and blessing of Irene’s life will be held on Friday September 24th at 10:30 A.M. at St. John of Damascus Orthodox Church: 16905 Espola Road Poway, CA. There will be a Graveside Service following at Oak Hill Memorial Park: 2640 Glenridge Road Escondido, CA.
