Herbert C. Baker, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his Wife of 60 years: Margaret "Peggy" Wolfston Baker in 2004. He is survived by his five children, Peggy Dekker Martineau and husband Marcel; Herbert C. Baker, Jr. and wife Liz, Susan Baker Crenshaw and husband, Bill, Marian Baker Pelsma and husband Steve, and Dan Baker and wife Carin. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He served our country in the Army Air Corps during World War II where he was the registar at the GI University in West Virginia. He attended the West Virginia University and the Lindsay Institute of Technology. He became a chemical engineer specializing in plastics. He initially worked as a regional sales representative for Kopper's Company in Pittsburgh, PA. He then worked several years at General Dynamics in research and development on the original cruise-guided missiles. He also founded Baker Enterprises, a proper Doantions can be made in Herb's name to : The Interfaith Community Services in Escondido, California or to Catholic Charities.
