Harold C. Ponder's Obituary
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Penny; children, Kate, John and Jim; grandchildren, Garrett, Sarah, Kelly, and Lauren; brothers, Scott and Dick and sister Nell. On June 10, 1942, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served for four years. He was a flight navigator in Squadron 253, Marine Air Group 25, spending 20 months in the South Pacific. He attended Crosbyton High School and Texas Tech University. He was born in High, Texas, the eldest of seven siblings. Upon completion of his service, he married the love of his life, Penny Latham, on June 22, 1947, and settled in Escondido. Harold worked for Valley Lumber before starting his own company Economy In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
