Hanneh A. Khoury's Obituary
Hanneh Khoury was born in 1930 in the Village of Birzeit, Palestine and died on November 21, 2023 in Escondido, Caliornia.
Hanneh grew up in Birzeit with her parents, sister Virginie and two brothers, the late Issa and Mousa Abdullah El Issa. Being the oldest, Hanneh helped rear her siblings because both parents were away on their respective jobs.
Hanneh was married to Adib Khoury, who predeceased her, and together they had four children. Adib and Hanneh, together with all four children, moved to Beirut, Lebanon in 1955 where Adib worked for Reuters News Agency. In Beirut, Hanneh reared her four children providing for all their every need, wrapped with her motherly tender love.
When all her children had grown, Hanneh went to work at the Paradise Hotel in Beirut. She was the Hotel Manager for more than 20 years until she emigrated to the United States.
Although she and her husband survived losing all their possession in the Naqba of 1948, and again lost all during the Lebanese Civil War, Hanneh lived a beautiful, dignified life dedicated to her husband and children. She was a do-er. If you wanted something done, Hanneh was there to do it and never asked for thanks. Her moto was, “Do good and cast it into the sea.”
Hanneh is survived by her four children, Hind, Rev. Father Boulos, Dr. Ghassan, Dr. Issam, and their spouses, eleven grand children, 17 Great-Grandchildren, and one Great-Great-Grandson.
Our families wish to acknowledge with deepest appreciation the many expressions of love, kindness
and concerns you have shown us during this most difficult time of bereavement.
Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and good works
May God Bless You!
