Guadalupe Padilla's Obituary
Guadalupe Padilla was born in Tierra Colorada, Jalisco, Mexico on May 24, 1929.
He came to the United States as a Bracero in his early 20’s. With every ounce of energy, he toiled in the fields to provide for his family in Mexico.
After countless hours worked, and the sale of his only jacket (which he wore everyday), he eventually earned the necessary funds to pay for the visas to bring his loving family onto US soil.
Years later, Guadalupe worked the fields at Limoneira Ranch in Santa Paula, California. He was happy, as the work was steady, and Limoneira Ranch would become the home for his wife and children. There, he would make lifelong friends, and his children would grow to do the same.
The majority of Guadalupe’s life was spent working to provide for his children, and for that, they are beyond grateful for all the sacrifices he made to give them a better future.
A fond memory shared by his children was his love for listening to music and the news on his transistor radio. Also, his equal love for attending weekend swap meets and markets.
Until his death, Guadalupe insisted former President Clinton helped gain him US legal residency- as the owner of company he worked for (in 1962) shared the Clinton name and was the one who helped him acquire green cards (permanent visas) for his whole family.
His final days were spent surrounded by his loved ones, and on
September 30, 2023, the Lord welcomed Guadalupe Padilla into heaven. He is survived by: his wife Arcelia, his sons, Jaime, Javier, and Ricardo, his daughters, Elida, Lupe and Maria, daughters and son’s in-law, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many extended family members. He was loved dearly and will be forever missed.
