Gilbert was preceded in death by his long time companion Martha Beresford in November 2000. Survivors: Godson: Brian "Zumo" Beresford; Goddaughter: Cali Beresford; Step-Sons: Donald "Jack" Beresford, Howard K.Maxcy, Sr., Brian "X" Beresford (Debbie); Step-Daughters: Patricia Sexton, Josephine Royer (Don), and Elizabeth Ragsdale; Niece: Florene Palone; Nephew: Sonny Arviso; Cousin: Bernice piper; Many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren Mr. Gilbert worked at the Warner Springs Ranch as golf maintenance for 44 years. He was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Inaja Cosmit Band of Mission Indians.
