Gifford Lurton Edgar “Giffâ€'s Obituary
Lurton Edgar “Giff†Gifford passed away at Casa de las Companas in Rancho Bernardo, CA on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Born on May 3, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio, he attended Miami University (Ohio), and then began working at Frigidaire where he met Dorothy Budai. They married in Dayton on December 26, 1943 and shared 68 years of marriage. He was a sales manager for National Cash Register (NCR) for 38 years, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Retiring in 1981, he and Dorothy moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Rancho Bernardo. Giff is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter Kathy Beanblossom and husband David; son Andy Gifford and wife Jo, grandson Kevin Gifford, grandson Drew Gifford, great-grandchildren Ethan, Grace and Rose Gifford; sister-in-law Margaret Abel, nephews Chris Giff was a good and gentle man, loved by his family and friends. After a memorial service at the Casa, interment will be in Dayton, Ohio.
