Gertrudes Nocon Tapucol's Obituary
Gertrudes passed away on February 6, 2018 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Pedro T. Tapucol. She was born on March 17, 1922 in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines to Cornelio and Catalina Nocon. She attended Cavite High School and graduated from the University of the Philippines, Manila. Gertrudes taught Tagalog and Math at Cavite High School before coming to the United States in 1952. She did accounting work for the City of Stockton and the State of California. When she retired in 1981, she volunteered preparing taxes for senior citizens and low income families.
Gertrudes enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, sewing and watching sports on television.
She is survived by her two daughters, Meg Tapucol-Provo (Tom) of Seattle and Amie Cool
(Peter) of Carlsbad, and four grandchildren, Marissa Cool of Brooklyn, Kristen Cool of Santa
Barbara, Giancarlo Provo of Seattle and Karina Provo of Bellingham, Washington. She will be missed by numerous nephews nieces and cousins living in the Philippines, the United States,Guam and Iceland.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 10:00 AM, followed by the rosary at 10:30 AM. Immediately following the rosary will be the funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. All will take place at Church of the Resurrection, 1445 Conway Drive, Escondido, California 92027.
Gertrudes will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Pedro, at San Joaquin Catholic
Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to the graveside burial ceremony on Friday, February 16, 2018, at 2:00 PM at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way, Stockton, California 95204.
