Gerardo Madera De La Torre's Obituary
Gerardo Madera De La Torre passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, age 79 in Escondido Ca. Gerardo was born on April 1, 1946, in Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico to his parents Gregorio Madera and Magdalena De La Torre. Gerardo immigrated to the United States in 1963 and he would cross the border to work in the States and help support his parents. In 1968, Gerardo met his first love, Estela Rojas whom he married and had four children. In 1974, Gerardo brought his wife, two daughters, a son, and his parents to live in Escondido, Ca where he would have one more son and reside for the next 52 years. He was a proud member of the Local 89 Construction Union for 35 years until he retired in 2000. Gerardo met his last love and life partner, Clara Acosta in 2001, which whom he shared the rest of his life.
Gerardo was preceded in death by his parents, seven elder siblings, his first love, Estela and his eldest daughter Martha Madera. Gerardo is survived by his life partner, Clara Acosta, his daughter Araceli and his two sons, Gerardo Jr. and Cesar Madera. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Gerry, Giovanny, Matthew, Bianca, Ysabella, Ashley, Joshua, Neyleen and Cesar Jr. Gerardo was also blessed to meet his first great-grandson, Mikael and was excited to meet his soon to be great grand-daughter in July. Gerardo will be missed by his children-in-law, Nereyda, Socorro, Mark and many other friends and family.
