George T. Sakata's Obituary
George Sakata, 86, passed away in Escondido, California on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. George was born on September 11, 1927 in San Jose, CA, to Takeo Sakata and Evelyn Sakata. George married his beloved wife Marion on October 8, 1959. George was a loving father to their 5 children, a successful small business owner and a true patriot of our great Nation.
George is survived by his children, Gregory Sakata of New York, Gentry Sakata of Little Rock, Arkansas, Shelley Pound of Escondido, California, Stacy Sakata of Grovetown, Georgia, and Stephanie Sakata of Evan, Georgia; grandchildren, Matthew, Leila, Rebekah, Allison, JT, Taylor, Austin; and six great-grandchildren; as well as his brothers Johnson and Elgin Sakata. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Marion Mildred Sakata and siblings Elsie Iwamoto and Lee Sakata.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at The First Baptist Church of Pacific Beach in San Diego, CA.
