George Mazzeti's Obituary
George Mazzetti, 88, of Rincon Band of Luiseño Mission Indians, peacefully began his journey home on October 14, 2019 at his home in Rincon Reservation.
George was born at Soboba Indian Hospital in Riverside, CA on August 2, 1931 to parents Frank and Georgia Calac-Mazzetti. George was the youngest of four siblings whom preceded him; Max Mazzetti, Alberta McNeal, and Frank Jr. Mazzetti. George met the love of his life, Jo Ann Keel, in the early 1960s while he was attending welding school in St. Louis, MO. They were wed February 3, 1962 in St. Louis. Shortly after, they moved back to California and had two children, Jerri and Rik.
George was a hardworking man, a U.S. Veteran, and a member of the Labor Union Local 89. His entrepreneurial spirit led him from farming cattle, growing palm and citrus trees, to creating his own excavating business. George had a zest for life, a contagious smile and a happy go lucky attitude. George will be heavily missed by those he leaves behind: his beloved wife of 57 years, his 2 children, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchild, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday October 25, 2019 at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Escondido, CA with viewing from 11am-2pm.
Burial will take place at 10am Saturday, October 26th at Rincon Cemetery, Rincon Indian Reservation, Valley Center, CA.
