G. Curtis Rowell's Obituary
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Freiberg, Kathy Jobbett,and Kay Serrano (Joe); daughter-in-law, Barbara Rowell; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis L. Rowell in 1975 and his wife, Claudine, in 2000. He started in the home building industry with his father at a very young age. He served our country as a marine in World War II in Iwo Jima. At the end of the war, he moved his wife and children to Escondido in January 1947. He started a building contractor business and built custom homes in the Escondido area for 40 years. He built schools and commercial buildings as well. He was president of the Contractors Association of North County and also served on the Escondido Plan He was an avid golfer until age 85. He also enjoyed fishing and sports. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion in Escondido.
