Francesco Mazzola's Obituary
Francesco Mazzola, 80, of Escondido, passed away Wednesday March 2, 2016 of natural causes. He was born October 9, 1935 in Italy. He was very involved in the community. He ran a prominent landscaping business in Escondido and was a part of the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club and had a field named after him; and he even received an Honorary Sheriff’s Award. He was well liked and known everywhere and was considered a friend to many in this community, and was often described as caring, loving and friendly. He was a man of honor and people could count on him. Francesco could always find his way around anyone’s kitchen as he confidently taught the next generation of men, women, and children, the secrets of his favorite recipes from his Italian upbringing. If you had the opportunity to taste the delicious food he prepared, you would not forget how incredibly savory his meals were. He enjoyed his time with others and he will always be remembered for his many passions whether they were tending to your landscaping needs, cooking, or fundraising. His passions where many and his generous nature was even greater. Survived by his brother Eugenio, and family and friends; Josie Norkus, Kara Norkus, Darian Norkus, Aniya Peterson, Destiny Bender, Jayana Crawford. A Memorial Service will be held on March 11, 2016 at 10:00am at the Church of St. Timothy’s in Escondido. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in Francesco’s name to the Boys and Girls Club.
