Frances Velma Ayers' Obituary
Escondido - Frances Velma Ayers went to be with her Savior on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Fran was born November 17, 1925 in Albany, Oregon. She was raised and spent her entire life in California. For the past 55 years she has resided in Silverado Canyon, CA and Escondido, CA. The last ten months of her life were spent at Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community in Escondido where she was lovingly cared for by family and an amazing team of caregivers. Some of her final words to those around her were “how wonderful” and “so beautiful.”
Fran was involved in Crossroads CRC, Saddleback Church and United URC. She was passionate about building houses with her late husband, Fred and had many hobbies. She enjoyed painting, gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She loved planning her life goals and spending time with family and friends. She was a very strong presence in the lives of many and we were very blessed to have her with us for so many years.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Fred G Ayers, her brothers Carl Lent and John Campbell. She is survived by her brother Thaddeus Lent (Dois), her children John Rice (Laura), Margaret Unger (Norman), Chris Unger (Linda), and Aura Lee Visser (Arlan), her grandchildren Tracy Coleman, Chris Coleman, Kurt Howe, Lila Unger, Annika Pescar, Andrea Visser, Austin Visser, Lisa Unger, Richie Unger, Dustin Rice and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Fran’s Memorial will be held on Friday May 17, 2024 at 11:30 at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido. It will be hosted by Alhiser-Comer Mortuary.
