Felix Mejia's Obituary
Felix Mejia, age 69, of Poway, CA passed away on 10 December 2022. He is survived by his wife Julie Mejia and has two sons: Felix Jr. of Hesperia, and George and his wife Irma of Kingsland, GA. Additionally, he is survived by his two granddaughters: Harley and Lily.
Felix was born in Calexico, CA on 08 October 1953 to George and Maria-Santos Mejia. He had one older brother: George Jr. and two younger sisters: Rosie and Lettecia. At the age of 19, Felix joined the United States Navy in 1973. In 1978, after five years of service, Felix married his high school sweetheart, Julie. After 20 years of active duty, Felix achieved the rank of Petty Officer First Class and retired from Naval Air Station North Island.
Felix enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, riding his Harley, and cars. He was never a man to just sit around. Until his last breath, he continued daily to keep himself active with home improvements, visiting friends and family, and restoring classic cars.
There will be a private viewing and Mass held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on December 27th at 0830. The Mejia family welcomes any and all stories, photos, and memories that Felix’s friends and colleagues would like to offer.
