Eugene “Gene” Adkins, aka Papa Bear, passed away early June 15th leaving his loved ones and becoming one of God’s angels.
He was born in Atlanta, GA on February 5, 1928. Down the road he married Helen Jean Brittain leading to 60 years of wedded bliss. Together they had three children, Caryn, Chris and Colin, which led to several grandchildren, Alexandria, Mikaela, Cailin, Zachary, Trevor, Matthew and Spencer.
Gene was a compassionate, honorable and headstrong Marine and always will be.
Help us remember and celebrate his glorious life Saturday, June 21st at 2:30pm at First United Methodist Church.
Gene will continue to live through our memories, forever, in our hearts. He will be missed tremendously.
