Esther Barlow Blunt's Obituary
Esther Blunt was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Barlow, a local artist and head of Art Department at Palomar College, and her daughter, Ellen Louise, in 1980. After raising her granddaughters, she married her friend of many years and fellow member of Grace Lutheran, Robert Blunt. She is survived by her son, Gary Louise Barlow and her six loving grandchildren, Stacy and Frank Konyn, Sara Barlow, Elisa and Jason Pellanda, Gina and Marc Reyburn, and John and Teresa Barlow. She was a loving great-grandmother to Kylie, Kiara, Teo, Jordan and Landon. She was born in Los Angeles. She was a graduate of San Diego High School in 1933 and San Diego State University in 1937. She was a resident of Escondido for over 70 years. She retired from Escondido schools after over 30 years of service. She was an avid world traveler and active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Escondido. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Elizabeth Hospice of Escondido.
