Erin Marilyn Lubo-Majel's Obituary
Marilyn was the eldest daughter of Andrew Majel and Gladys (Lubo) Majel. Her younger sister, Romelle, later joined the family. Her parents preceded her in death. Marilyn graduated with an AA degree from Palomar College in 1976 and continued her education pursuits all of her life. The professional life of Marilyn included a career at the Bureau of Indian Affairs in tribal operations, senior clerk for Child Protective Services, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Director, Court Clerk for the Intertribal Court of Southern California, ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) Expert Witness. Marilyn's community commitments were many: Board Member of the Indian Child and Family Services, 25+ years on the California Indian Manpower Consortium Board, as well as its Native American Work Enforcement Council, Friends of California Indian Services f Marilyn is survived by her sister, Romelle Majel McCauley and brother-in-law, Ted; aunts, Florence and Lorena; and Godchildren, Gene and Therman. In her personal life, Marilyn leaves a legacy of mother, friend, and mentor in particular to her sister frie Marilyn also benefitted from the love, guidance, and support in her life beginning with Patrick Moro, Cristobal Forbes, Christina and Claude Devers and family. Orphaned by the age of 12, she was raised by her father, Andrew's siblings and their spouses; thus she was a daughter and sister to the Lofton, Dixon, Majel, and Reina families.
