Elva is survived by her husband, John Hernandez; daughter, Joyce Borjorquez; son-in-law, Frank Bojorquez; daughter-in-law, Toni Hernandez; sisters, Rae Flores and Adela Cayous; sister-in-law, Ruth Flores; seven grandchildren, Lisa Martinez, Frank John Borjorquez (Susan), Teresa Bojorquez, Rachelle Hernandez, Ben Hernandez (Christy), Angela Beam (Curt), and Daniel Hernandez. She also has nine great grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Kylie, Ritchie, Logan, Ben, Brianna, Caleb, and Frankie; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Oceanside, the youngest of six children. She was raised in Carlsbad attending the local schools. She got married on June 2, 1948 to John Hernandez and moved to Escondido where they lived and raised a family. She was married for 62 years and blessed to be a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother of two children.
