Elmer Joseph Stepanek's Obituary
Elmer Joseph Stepanek was born March 4th, 1927 to Harrison Stepanek and Amelia Kiefer Stepanek in Hawk Point, Missouri. He passed away September 28th, 2012 at his home in Escondido, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Lawler Stepanek; and his children, Leslie, John (Krista), Doug (Erica), Paul (Dina), Elizabeth (Mike Smith) and Patricia (Chad Bird); as well as 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also surviv Elmer was raised in a farming community west of St. Louis. He enlisted in the US Navy at age 17 and served during WWII. He earned a Masters degree in Education and taught school for 36 years. Thirty of those years were at Potter Junior High School in F Since his retirement, he has enjoyed gardening, music, camping and traveling. He was an active member of the Church of St. Timothy.
