Elmer E. Smith's Obituary
Elmer E. Smith, 75, passed away suddenly at home on June 5, 2014.
He was born in Texas on December 14, 1938, to James V. and Ruth Smith, who relocated their family to San Diego California, when Elmer was seven years old. He graduated from Kearny High School in 1957 and San Diego State University in 1963. He was a 37-year resident of Escondido, where he was a State Farm Insurance agent. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara J. Smith; daughters, Suzanne Wheeler (spouse Keith) and Roxanne Perez (spouse Patrick, aka “Packy”); four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Peggy Bush; brother James Smith; and many other cherished family members.
He was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Ruby Davis and Imogene Beall Herrin, and brother Doyle Voelkle.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 16, 2014, at 11:00 am at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary.
