Elizabeth (Betty) Robbins' Obituary
She was born in Oneonta, New York and was a resident of Escondido since 1962. Betty met, was romanced, and married Joe D. Robbins of Chester, SC. After a brief courtship, they married in 1944 in Atlantic City, NJ. Only days later, Joe (US Navy) was off to the war (WWII) in the South Pacific, and Betty (US Army) to Europe. Betty Following the war, as Joe managed a military career, Betty managed the home as a Navy wife for 21 years, and then 43 years as a civilian couple before Joe passed away December 12, 2007. In that time, she had five children, Joe D., Jr. (Ginger) of Houston We all remember mom as a very special lady who loved God, loved her family, and just loved life. Betty, as a member of Escondido Country Club for over 30 years, played golf regularly. She enjoyed the sport and all the many friends she came to know at th Betty was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. Knowing she is now resting and feeling great in a place the Lord has prepared for her has allowed her family a special peace along with their loss.
