Elizabeth Amelia Lindquist Mannix's Obituary
She is survived by her ten children, Sharyn, Kathleen, Michael, Patrick, Maureen, Judith, Mary, Christine, Thomas and Francis and by her 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Patrick Mannix, Jr., M.D. (1989) and daughter Patricia Ann (1945). In January 1943, in light of World War II, she and her future husband Edgar Patrick Mannix, Jr., M.D., along with other nurses and doctors from the same hospital, volunteered together in the military and became the U.S. Army 79th General Hospital Medical While in Brooklyn, and in her early twenties, she became a registered nurse. In the late 1970s, she returned to school and completed her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Pepperdine University.
