Edna Syverson Marks' Obituary
Edna was born Edna Dorothy Syverson on October 25, 1917 and passed away on Sunday March 24, 2013. She was the second of five children. She had an older sister, Irene, and three younger brothers, Raymond, Ralph and Donald. Edna graduated from Wahoo High School, class of 1936, and then attended the University of Nebraska. In 1943, she married Robert Marks who had been in the US Navy. During World War II, Robert Marks was a naval officer who served in the European Theater. As a veteran, Robert attended Columbia University for his Doctorate while Edna earned her Master's Degree there in 1954. They then moved to the Los Angeles area where they lived until the mid-1970's. During that time, they welcomed their two children, da Edna is survived by her children, Sue Lowe (Grant), and Robin Marks (Janislee); and eight grandchildren, Charlotte Lowe, Jesse Lowe, Andrew Lowe, Antoni Marks, Andre Marks, AlisaMae Marks, Aaron Marks and Alan Marks. A memorial service was held at the Escondido First United Methodist church.
