Dr. Michael Wayne Caston's Obituary
Dr. Michael Wayne Caston passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday October 27th from ALS complications. Mike was born in Seattle WA June 11, 1948, the son of Bob and Nancy Caston. He spent most of his life in California where he became an influential and respected educator. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northern Arizona University and graduate level degrees from the University of Southern California. He was a partner in Leadership Associates; previously a superintendant of four California school districts; Charte He is survived by his wife Judy, son Robert and wife Catherine of Newbery Park and their four children Ella, Emily, Milana and Mason; son Scott and wife Lauren of Danville and their newborn son Paul; and son Mike Jr. a senior at University of Redlands. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Sunday November 17, 2013 at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Escondido Education Foundation or the ALS Association of San Diego, www.alsasd.org in the name of Caston’s Crew.
