Donald Nicholas DiMaio's Obituary
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Maria and Frank DiMaio; son, Donald DiMaio; great grandson, Dominic DiMaio-Russell. He will now be reunited with his loyal German Shepard "Princess." He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 60 years Gloria DiMaio; daughters, Donna DiMaio-Villalobos, Fran DiMaio-Russell (Dale); sisters, Carmella Carotenuto (Carmen deceased), and Elvira Walker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Laura DiMaio-Deibert (Kevin), Nino DiMaio, Ted Russell, Tami Gonzalez (Gabriel), Heidi Russell, Samantha Russell, Julianne and Danielle Villalobos; great-grandchildren, Adriana, Isabel and Gabriel Gonzalez, Anthony and Isaac Russell; his nephews, Frankie Carotenuto (Barb) their four children and John Francis Walker. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in WWII Donald was born in Italy and came to the United States at the age of 12 and lived in Ohio where he graduated from high school and worked with his father in the plumbing and heating business. Donald started and owned his own plumbing company in Ohio - DeMa Donald and Gloria sold their six acres on Washington Ave. in Escondido, and Don was so proud that the street is named "DiMaio Way" and the complex is called "DiMaio Estate." That land was his fathers before him, and now their legacy will live on forever.
