Donald DiPiero
October 17, 1940 – December 21, 2018
Donald (Don) DiPiero died peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home in Escondido surrounded by his family. He was 78 years old.
Don was born in Rocca San Giovanni, Abruzzo, Italy on October 17, 1940, later immigrating to Burlington, Ontario, Canada. He later settled in Waterdown, Ontario, Canada to raise his family. In 1984, Don and his family moved to Escondido, California where he’s lived for the past 34 years. Throughout his years in Escondido, he operated a number of businesses including Action Car Wash and Joor Muffler Shop.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Adelina (Morra), his parents Carmen and Gilda DiPiero, and his brother Joe DiPiero. He is survived by his wife, Xiomara (Molina), who lovingly provided care to him during his illness. He is also survived by his son Rick and daughter-in-law Cindy and grandsons Kyle and Ryan; son John and granddaughter Isabella; son Joe and grandson Collin; brother Raymond and sister-in-law Mary and their children Raymond, Lisa and David and his wife Angela; and a large group of extended family and friends.
Don loved his family dearly and was a good friend to many. He enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home to spend time with those he loved. We will all miss him dearly.
There will be a visitation and viewing on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 225 South Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1170 South Broadway, Escondido, CA, 92025.
