Delores M Stacy's Obituary
Delores Mae Stacy, 97, died Friday, November 9, 2018, in Escondido, CA. Born April 25, 1921, in Oklahoma City, OK, and moved to Cincinnati, OH, with her parents when she was an infant. She earned her bachelor's degree in Applied Arts from the University of Cincinnati and Masters in Education from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She retired as the Art Department Head at Parkway West Senior High School, Ballwin, MO, teaching photography, ceramics, puppetry, and crafts during her teaching career. After retirement, she moved to Escondido 32 years ago with her husband. She enjoyed doll making, reading, photography, travel, spending time with her Great Danes, and did volunteer work for the Balboa Museum of Photographic Arts, Diana’s Angels and the Escondido Joslyn Senior Center. She was also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and P.E.O. Chapter SL. Mrs. Stacy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert A. Stacy. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Gerry Stacy of Yorba Linda, William and Sharon Stacy of San Diego; daughter Lynn Stacy of Escondido; four grandchildren Tara (Stacy) Short, Michelle (Stacy) Huss, Robert L. Stacy, and Michael Stacy; and three great-grandchildren Cailin, Declan, and Merrick. A private gathering and inurnment is planned at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma. The family suggests donations to Zoological Society of San Diego, P.O. Box 120551, San Diego, CA 92112.
