DeLisle Calac passed peacefully from this life in the early morning hours of January 24, 2022. He was 93 years old. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois; his son, Gregory Calac (Laurie) of Auburn, California; his daughter, Read Obituary
Mr. Calac was a gentleman who always put community first. He was a great supporter of youth sports and the impact of sport on young people, always ready help the Valley Center Baseball Club when the need was there. Thank you for your service to so many. You will be missed greatly.
He will forever he remembered for his love of God, Family and community.Hugs to family and friends who knew him😉
John Carscaden, Andrea Calac Carscaden’s oldest son, never lived on or near the Rincon Reservation. DeLisle and Lois would stop and visit with John and Joyce in San Luis Obispo on they trips to Morro Bay. John and his younger brother, Luis attended various military or boarding schools until they graduated from high school. After serving in World War II John settled in SLO and married Joyce Mathison. John owned a small business and worked six days a week. Lou and DeLisle were John’s contacts at Rincon and he very much looked forward to their visits. As John got older, we would call and talk to Lois and DeLisle. John loved hearing how is relatives were doing. The kindness and friendship DeLisle and Lois shared with John and Joyce is much appreciated by John’s family. The last few years we have been in contact with Lacey Calac Dunne and Shalome Calac Briggs, DeLisle’s granddaughters. Your family is amazing and we look forward to meeting additional relatives. I do not have a computer so I've asked my son Stan and his wife Penny to relay this message regarding Delisle Calac. Delisle and Lois have been our good friends for over 50 years. They were so good to us while we both served the Lord together at EFCC. They helped us out financially with medical bill and more.
Delisle & I served together on the Church Board, the Building Committee all during our move from 7th St. to our present location on 17th. Delisle also served with me on Men on a Mission, United Indian Mission & much more.
To Lois & the Calac family, to know Delisle is in Heaven with his Savior will bring comfort to you until you see him in Heaven soon! I'm missing him also.

I will always remember DeLiisle at Escondido Rotary lunch. I had the pleasure of sitting with him and Tig Wohlford learning of Escondido history and their EHS years. I learned much about Rincon and their history and i thank him so much. RIP DeLisle.

I have many memories of our dear brother in Christ, DeLisle Calac. DeLisle served as a faithful board member of United Indian Mission, now known as UIM International. He was a dear friend of my father, Don Fredericks, who was Executive Director of UIM for 30 years. DeLisle brought a wealth of godly wisdom and practical knowledge from his business background. DeLisle love his native people and this is what drove him from the heart to serve with UIM International, out of his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss his presence with us, both is wit and wisdom. But we rejoice he is securely "absent from the body and present with the Lord!"
